Objectives and competences

Students acquire knowledge about some examples of application of mathematics in real-life problems.

Intended learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding:
Students will learn how to use mathematical theory in concrete, real-life situations
Application:
The accuired knowledge is applicable when solving mathematical problems, as well as in the nonacademic environment.
Reflection:
Students will reflect the acquired knowledge.
Transferable skills:
Techniques of solving problems, that students will learn, are generally applicable throughout the study programme.

Learning and teaching methods

Lectures, exercises, homeworks, consultations

Assessment

Type (examination, oral, coursework, project):
written exam
Grading: 1-5 (fail), 6-10 (pass) (according to the Statute of UL)
